We stumbled upon this place after looking at Yelp, and I'm so glad we did! We live nearby and am so sad that we didn't find this place earlier. Subs were fresh, and delicious. Way better than a typical sub shop. The owner is so nice, and I love the fun artwork on the walls. Also, besides having delicious sandwiches you have to try to the potato salad and the crumb cake...so, so, good.

It's a shame I can only give this place a 5 star rating! I've been here twice and for some odd reason this place just gets better and better! It's a quaint sandwich shoppe offering dine in or to go sandwiches BUT these aren't just any ordinary sandwich. These are prepared so well and these ppl are the ones that should be called "sandwich artists" not those fools at subway! As a matter of fact why can't there be more of these and less of subways. My first visit there I had the turkey cranberry radish spread homemade stuffing and garlic aïoli dressing with Swiss cheese on whole wheat hero, they warmed and pressed it in the Panini warmer! It was absolutely unbelievably delicious, it was a Thanksgiving dinner all wrapped up in one small hero, I even joked with the preparer saying that I'm glad that I had this because I missed Thanksgiving dinner and this couldn't have been any better of replacement! As a side I had the loaded potato salad which is prepared fresh and made daily. My second visit here I had the torpedo hero which consisted of almost like their version of a Italian combo, so it's loaded with salami, sopresatta, ham, and provolone adding - to that amazing mix is cherry peppers, banana peppers, jalapenos, lettuce deli mustard, and balsamic/oil and more! There's just something about each individual sandwich that makes this place so unique. The staff is extremely amazing especially Dawn! Go in and check this place out! They've got much more to offer including home made chocolate desserts !!

Decided to try this place out because of all the great reviews and it DID NOT disappoint! Sandwiches were stuffed with fresh ingredients, and don't even get me started on the bread - amazing! Service was excellent and the decor is bright and welcoming. Without a doubt one of the best (if not the best) sandwich spots in the Fort Lauderdale area.

  • Steven P.

Everything on the menu will have you chomping and swallowing enthusiastically. My favorite lunch spot on the drive. Sandwiches are unique AND don't forget the chocolate covered Twinkie's for desert! CHECK IT OUT MARY!!!

Absolutely delicious! Friendly staff. Only wish they were closer to me so I could go more often.

in a word...FRESH! We stopped by after being in the area and seeing the yelp reviews. The subs were delicious and fresh. I had the skipper...YUM. My 4 yr old loved her turkey and cheese sandwich. My husband built his own and was excited by the choice of toppings. Cucumber salad was fresh, crisp and yum. Looking forward to our next trip there! Worth the drive from Weston!

This is one of the BEST sandwich shops I've eaten at. The owner is friendly with a tough Bronx accent and puts her heart into the quality of the food. The toppings are generous and they don't skimp. Worth every penny to have a sandwich that fills you up. The sweets counter looked wonderful (and unique). The side dishes are made daily. The cucumber salad reminded me of my grandmas recipe. I'll be back when I'm in town! Kudos, to the pink submarine. The art on the walls are fun too!

  • Brett L.

Always fresh high quality meats and toppings! Generous portions! Can't say anything bad about this place! You can order from their menu of yummy combinations or create your own.

Great sandwich shop and very accommodating staff. We had The Beacon - hot and pressed turkey, gouda, bacon, garlic aioli guac (oozing w/ flavor) and The Buoy - roast beef, gouda, horseradish mayo, alfalfa sprouts and cucumber (added avocado). Ingredients are fresh and so crazy mouth watering. Did a workout @ BodyTek and these sandwiches were a treat! It's my go-to sandwich place when in the area ...thank you.

  • Cherir C.

The sandwich I had was on a fresh multi grain roll and the ingredients were fresh and plentiful. I ran across this sandwich shop using my yelp app to find some place close to home. I've been trying to get there for a few weeks and it worked out. The parking out front is metered and it is very near out of the closet and the ice cream place. So we made an evening of it.

  • Scott R.

Food was good. Not mind blowing but very good. Service was great, very friendly and the shop was clean. I'd definitely eat there again.

We got a couple of sandwiches to share with the neighbors and everyone agreed they were terrific! I would highly recommend!!

Yummy Delicious and creative sandwiches. And the Owner Dawn is the BOMB!

  • Matthew C.

Creative sandwich! Second best sandwich shop I have been to. Staff are always friendly, and the owner is a jar of fun times. If you are in the area I recommend that you check this place out, I guarantee that you won't be disappointed!

  • WM 9.

Great sub shop and variety. Side dishes can be dry depending on how old they are. Service is usually pretty quick (some sub makers are faster than others but I prefer quality and accuracy vs speed).

    (4)
  • Mel C.

Best subs in Fort Lauderdale! Menu offers over a dozen subs with the most unique flavor combinations. Absolutely addicted to the sub named "The Skipper" but I have not tried one that I didn't like! Must stop in an try one of their subs.

    (5)
  • Julie H.

Can I give 10 stars? 5 doesn't do this place justice. Yelpers you rock. This place is as good as you said. The co-owner Dawn is friendly, funny and makes a mean sandwich. The food is high quality, homemade and creative. The loaded baked potato salad is crazy awesome. I couldn't stop eating it. We had The Buoy and the Skipper. Both delicious sandwiches, made with Boar's Head meats. The place is funky and cool, very comfortable. We will be back!

    (5)
  • Bahia S.

Amazing little sub shop! The bread is fresh and they pack the ingredients into the sub. No skimping here! The owner is super friendly. I don't usually make it up to this area, but next time I will definitely stop here for another great sub and friendly atmosphere!

  • Suzan D.

So, being a HUGE fan of LaSpadas, I was skeptical about finding a place that could rival them. There is definite character to this place, and the variety of subs offered is interesting. I had the Captain, but if I come back will probably have the Vessel instead. It's not quite LaSpadas, but it wasn't bad either.

Why can I only give 5 stars for The Pink Submarine when it deserves much higher. My wife and I were traveling back from Miami to catch a flight in Ft Lauderdale and decided to get something to eat so we looked on Yelp to see what some of the highest rated places were, and that is when we stumbled upon "The Pink Submarine". It has the highest ratings for a reason, great gourmet subs, great selection of fresh ingredients, and a wonderful owner. Dawn was a blast to chat with and she answered all of our questions about Ft Lauderdale, the neighborhood, and the community of the surrounding area. Outside of having a varied selection of great sub selections and ingredients I was not pigeon-holed into having only the ingredients that was on the menu. I had "The Tomahawk" sub and swapped out the tomatoes and ranch dressing for onion crisps and sriracha mayo. Whenever we are rolling back through Ft Lauderdale we will be sure to stop and visit Dawn at The Pink Submarine and have a great sub and experience. THANKS DAWN!! P.S. Please open a Pink Submarine in Canada.

  • Kara B.

HANDS DOWN my favorite place to eat in Wilton Manors. Dawn is always a great time. And count me in for the Skipper, every single time. Don't miss out on the chocolate covered Oreo's or the loaded potato salad. Amazing EVERY SINGLE TIME

    (5)
  • Steve B.

Excellent subs with everything you can imagine on them. Friendly service...felt like home! Cookie was delicious..loaded potato salad was even better. Highly recommend for a great lunch and sandwich. Beware though yelp map takes you to the wrong place...just type the address in Google Maps manually.

  • Alina C.

Delicious!! These subs are truly unique. The homemade bread is out of this world and the array of toppings are varied, plentiful, and fresh, fresh, fresh! Worth every penny.

There are times when one writes a review which, though fully accurate at the time of the writing later proves inaccurate or misleading because of facilities transition, change of circumstances or the simple fact that you somehow hit the place at a rare off moment which isn't truly representative of what the establishment is generally like. Such, I believe, was the case of my first review of Pink Submarine and the reason for this, my update. I first reviewed Pink Submarine on November 11, 2011 during which it was in transition from what was Gigi & Gavin's Gourmet Chocolates and Coffee into what it is today, the Pink Submarine. My experience at that time wasn't all that pleasant, hence at the time a rating of Two Stars and the fact that I didn't return; at least not until now. I'm pleased to report that upon my recent return my experience was entirely different than it was previously. Instead of a clownish two hour temporary staff fill in, one of the owners was present behind the service counter who couldn't have proved to be more helpful, attentive, friendly and polite. Following her recommendations I had a one of their special half Skipper Sandwiches along with their chicken soup. The sandwich proved exceptional, top notch ingredients, perfectly assembled, totally fresh of excellent quality as well as taste. Furthermore, the chicken soup was the best ever. It not only contained plenty of chicken, large chunks of it, but an obviously fresh homemade "from the ground on up" flavor and consistency. Matter of fact it was one of the best chicken soups I've ever had anywhere at any time or at any restaurant. As a finishing touch to my meal, I was given compliments of the house, a really terrific chocolate candy referred she mentioned as being a "buckeye." My return visit was encouraged by one of the owners who had written a Yelp message to me in which she indicated that my prior review seemed to her to be rather off base with regards to present day Pink Submarine, and glad she did, since she was clearly correct in that assertion. Though she made a polite suggestion to in fact meet with her at the Pink Submarine I went entirely on my own so that I could write this, a completely unbiased review. Hence, no one present at the Pink Submarine (that is with the exception of every vigilant local photographer, Pompano Bill, who was already there, seated at another table) knew who I was or that my purpose being to update my previous review and, which turned out to my delight to be what proved to be a really great sandwich and soup. Needless to say, I'll be back for more of what are the best soups and sandwiches to be found along "The Drive" or, for that matter, within the area. Normally for a sandwich shop I wouldn't go over Four Stars but because of the overwhelming concern the proprietors have shown, not only concern of their customers, but also in the quality of food preparation, I'm going Five Stars.

We wandered in on a rainy Saturday on a whim and we were pleasantly surprised by the delicious menu and friendly owner aiming to please. We will definitely be back!

What a treat to make it to this place. They have really good subs. But best of all they have Twinkies dipped in chocolate. And the woman who runs the place is very gregarious and fun to talk to. This was an absolute find and can't wait to come back for another visit.

  • Marcia S.

The subs are very fresh and creative .... Cute little quaint sub shop. Nice and friendly vibe:) if you're looking for something simple but tasty, good option. Potato salad is good but I preferred the orzo salad.

  • Lisa B.

Husband and I stopped in for lunch (thanks to yelp ;)) and were sooo impressed. Find myself still craving a pink sub sub! Need to get back over there to make it happen. He had The Admiral and I had the Full Steam Ahead... And here we are 3 months later thinking we should drive the 20 miles to get subs ;)

  • L H.

Moved to WM recently, and have been here several times. Great price for the special. The sandwiches are good and potato salad is yummy. You can have the lady make it however you want. I don't try the ones on the board because they all seem to have mayo or hot something, and I don't do mayo or hot stuff, but since you can pick and choose ingredients, its a "go" for me. Will be back often.

  • CC ..

Loved it, Loved it, big meaty hoagie's (sandwiches) healthy portions, deliciously fresh and a ton of variety right on the drive in Wilton Manors. I would described it as a Boutique Gourmet Sandwich Shop. Oh and don't forget to try the brownies...yum!

  • Robert C.

This is the best sandwich shop I have ever been to. The best sandwich creations with the absolutely freshest ingredients available. The owner is very nice, friendly & customer oriented. She has a winner here. The gourmet sides are to die for!!!! Also here chocolate dipped twinkles are killer.

  • Mike L.

Don't know what more to say than this place was amazing. One of the best subs I've ever had and great service. Also, the loaded potato salad is w must. I recommend the skipper and tomahawk subs, but everything looked great

  • Michael F.

Ok. That was perfect. Delicious sandwich - The Vessel. Fun decor. And the friendliest owner of a "mom and mom" shop ever. Exactly what I wanted/needed on a Sunday afternoon.

    (5)
  • Tim T.

Ok. My first visit and ordered the Bouy. Nothing to rave about. Manager/owner seemed annoyed being there. There's not friendly then there's bad attitude. For $8 a sub maybe make it above an average Quiznos.

    (3)
  • Thomas B.

Absolutely delicious! Super fresh product, and great quality meats! The loaded potato salad is out of this world. They've also got a selection of chocolate covered things, like twinkies and oreos. Haven't tried them yet, but they look amazing.

    (5)
  • J S.

I ordered a Beacon sub and what amazed me was that even though I was getting really full as I was nearing the end of it, the sub actually tasted just as good or BETTER than when I first bit into it. That's unheard of. Never experienced that with a sub or any food. Yeah it's $8 for a 8-inch sub, $10 for a combo meal but the food is top-notch, the staff are so warm and friendly it's unbelievable, and the atmosphere is nice and welcoming.

Omg!! This place is awesome!!! My mom and I were in the area and not familiar with the places to eat but starving so I checked on Yelp and found this place with great reviews. We are so happy we stopped in!! We were treated so nice and the place is so clean and all fresh ingredients. Also the bread is great. My mom got the Friday special which was meatball and she couldn't stop raving about it. I got the buoy and loved it!!!! We will definitely be back! I was going to take a photo but couldn't wait to bite into my sub. Sorry ha!

  • Angela E.

Fabulous subs. We bought a few for the beach. they were great. cant beat $8 all subs. also chocolate specialties made in house.

    (5)
  • Joseph F.

The skipper sub and potato salad at this place are delicious. A simple menu with a not so simple taste. There are also a few choices for chocolate deserts. I will definately be visiting this place again.

  • Paul O.

I recently discovered The Pink Submarine. Everything they make is fresh and fantastic. You couldn't ask for a cleaner place to eat. I could go on, the owners, Jason and Dawn couldn't be nicer people. The Pink Submarine is above five stars. When you want a sub, this is the place to go!!

    (5)
  • James G.

Best food in town!! Always fresh, new specials daily, and there are always unique desserts to choose from. I high recommend to everyone because this is as good as it gets. My personal favorite is The Beacon. Make sure to try to new sides made fresh daily!

    (5)
  • David D.

Hands down the best subs in town! So many choices with the freshest ingredients! They only use Boars head meats and have so many great toppings like artichokes, alfalfa sprouts and sweet and regular pickles. Today I just got a turkey spinach wrap but I usually get one of their special subs. Give it a try!

  • Rachel C.

We just moved to Wilton and needed a quick weeknight meal. The reviews were great, so we decided to give it a try, and we were NOT disappointed. This little place is adorable and delicious. I had the skipper ( which I HIGHLY recommend) and my husband had the first mate (add dried cranberries, they add just the right tang.) The lady behind the counter was a little slow, but super sweet. Definitely check them out!

    (5)
  • Lynne C.

Every sandwich is absolute perfection between the loaf halves. Be sure to save room for one of Dawn's chocolate covered Oreos. I went for the white chocolate watermelon ones, but the choices are vast.

  • Josh W.

Wow... Absolutely incredible subs salads and desserts. I would recommended it to anyone. Absolutely in my top 3 sandwich places ever.

Great subs, great service. Really a good stop for lunch. Looking forward to trying more items off their menu.

  • Jane D.

There's a reason this place has five stars on yelp. Subs are great and the sides are just as awesome. Also, very nice staff and atmosphere! Awesome find.

  • Erica K.

Above and beyond in service and food, wow! What a great experience, definitely gonna make this a regular spot. The loaded baked potato salad was on point, get it!

    (5)
  • Briana C.

Seriously the best sandwich I have ever had. The freshest ingredients, best cheeses...the owner and employees are so pleasant and the atmosphere is always so cheery. This is by far no question my favorite place for lunch. My only concern is that she sjould be charging way more money for these things. The price is super low for the hight of the quality!

    (5)
  • Keith D.

Great sandwiches. Although they had pre-designated sandwiches, the owner insisted that we customize however we wanted. The bread was fresh and slightly sweet. The owner seemed to really enjoy what she did and there was a genuine camaraderie among the customers. I would definitely go back.

    (4)
  • Kevin H.

This is not your typical subshop experience. Check out their signature submarines. Each sub creation adds a twist that tantalizes your tastebuds. Have you ever had Mac&Cheese on a sandwich before? If not, try it. You'll be dreaming up the sandwich for weeks. If you're there on a Friday, I highly recommend the meatball sub. Don't miss the secret hand-craft gourmet chocolate case in the back. It will satisfy even the most particular sweet-tooth.

    (5)
  • Christopher T.

The freshest ingredients, homemade sides, delicious fudge, cool ass decor/murals, and Dawn is just a dang pleasure to chat with... Love this place, I wish I lived closer to Wilton Manors so I could eat here more often!

    (5)
  • Alyssa P.

My girlfriend and I went here today for lunch and were very impressed! I got The Captain and it was delicious. The owner, Dawn, recommended that I add pickles which were a great contrast to the other flavors. My girlfriend got the First Mate which was equally impressive. She had the option of 2 different balsamic vinegars and the white one added a nice sweetness to the sandwich. Dawn was wonderful and had a nice conversation with us while making our sandwiches. She had a great attitude and offered suggestions. We will definitely be going back here again for the amazing food and excellent service!

    (5)
  • Jeff N.

Get the Captain. Best sandwich shop in Wilton Manors or Fort Lauderdale for that matter.

    (5)
  • Matt S.

Uses high quality ingredients and stands apart from any other sub/sandwich shop. The staff is extremely friendly and welcoming. Definitely worth a stop in!

    (5)
  • Shannon S.

My partner and I came in after endlessly searching for something different in the sandwich game. We've tried Primanti Bros., Laspadas, and while those are good places to grab a sandwich, I wanted a little more variety. We both really enjoyed Pink Submarine! I ordered "The Skipper" and my partner had "The Captain". I really give good marks on their choice of roll. My biggest complaint about Primanti's is that half way through a sandwich their french bread gets soggy... none of that at Pink. We also had a side of potato salad, which was delicious, and took a cookie for the road. Dawn, the owner, was SUPER nice and talkative, and the whole place had a relaxed atmosphere. We will definitely be back to try out the rest of her menu, and cant wait for new additions!

    (4)
  • Elaine W.

A must, if looking for a great sub at reasonable prices. Amazing, creative options, homemade sizes, fresh meat/veggies and great friendly staff!

3 words. Chocolate covered twinkies. Sandwiches with mac & cheese AND potato sticks on them. This place is the GOD of YOU.

    (5)
  • Frank L.

New menu items that are sooo yummy! I go about once a week and my favorite is the tomahawk on multigrain. This is not your average sub shop as you can see by the other great reviews! Fresh everything and thick cuts make Pink Submarine the best sub shop around. You will never go back to a chain sub shop again once you try a real one!

    (5)
  • Bryce C.

immaculately made with love . , Happy sangwishing

Love this place! The wonderful lady that owns the business is always working hard behind the counter! The subs are amazing and perfect!

  • Travis W.

Such a fun place. I love the peeps that work here. I also love the creative sandwiches they have on their menu. You won't find subs like these anywhere else. I have also used Pink Submarine for several corporate catering events - upwards of 30-40 people and everyone was impressed and loved the food!

  • Dennis C.

This place is AMAZING. I've had a bazillion different sandwiches here. The meat is always fresh and delicious (fresh and delicious meat on Wilton Drive...who knew?) Boar's Head....yum. The rolls are fresh daily, there's a ton of different toppings available. You've GOT to try the Captain....I mean macaroni and cheese AND potato sticks on a sub? Dawn is after my own heart. Everything is hand made, the loaded baked potato salad is to die for and Dawn, the owner, is a lovely lady. I eat there at least 3 times a week and I'm a b**** when it comes to food, just sayin! DO IT!

    (5)
  • Mary S.

Dawn is the nicest lady ever! We stopped in after a horrible experience at Rodeo Restaurant (just a few doors down) after seeing an award from the news station on their door. Samples the chocolate with cayenne. It was DIVINE! Their meats are Boar's Head, top quality! Will be back soon!

    (5)
  • Matt B.

I went in with a friend to pick up a couple of subs for lunch. My friend got a roast beef sub and I asked Dawn for her recommendation. We chose "The Captain" OMG I inhaled this sandwich as it was amazing! You have to go there and get one! We both really enjoyed the atmosphere, friendly staff, and delicious sandwiches and cookies! This place is really cute- we will definitely return and try some of the other items!

  • Carlos M.

Best Wrap I've ever had! I ordered a veggie wrap, everything was FRESH and TASTY... Im a very picky eater, and the lady behind the counter was very acommodating.... she even suggested some items to add to my wrap that were delicious.... I even got a sample of their cucumber salad which was truly amazing too.... My wrap was huge, I could only eat half of it, so I had the other half for dinner :) , and it was only 7.99 w/ a can of soda.... that's what you pay at subway!! I would definetly have lunch there again....

    (5)
  • Patricia M.

Yum!!! Loved this sandwich shop - Boars Head meat, fresh veggies, and other toppings. And the homemade chocolates are to die for! The sandwiches are so big, Icould only eat half and the prices are good. The owners running the place could not have been any nicer. I will definitely be back in to see them and will refer my friends.

    (5)
  • James D.

This place has completely unique and absolutely delicious sandwiches. They use the highest quality meats and creative combinations of ingredients. Dawn, the owner, seems like your own mom or aunt making lunch. This place is fantastic!

  • Freddie F.

had lunch with a friend there and I had a toasted turkey & cheese sub and my friend had a meatball sub... good tasting food and good service... I will be back

This review has been at the back of my mind for a while now. It's the old case of food versus atmosphere. I had extremely high expectations based on previous reviews, so maybe I set myself up and didn't give The Pink Submarine a fair chance. The atmosphere: This place is so awesome! There is street parking and also a parking lot a tad south of it. As you walk inside, you are whisked away deep under the ocean with a beautiful mural with fish and a scuba diver. There is a typical sandwich making line to your right and, ahead, they have delicious things like chocolate dipped oreos and twinkies. The menu has a nautical/naughty theme for every sandwich. Dawn is pretty darn amazing. She makes you feel right at home and will share funny stories with you. Her hospitality definitely kicks this place to the next level and, if the review was based on her alone, it would be a 5, without a doubt. However! I feel like I was a bit mislead about the actual food. I've had two different subs while here. I first had "The Buoy" with roast beef, gouda, horseradish mayo, peppers, and alfafa sprouts. It was okay, not bad but not amazing. The mayo wasn't as spicy as I thought it was going to be. The second time around, I had "The Captain." I've seen pictures of this monster sandwich as was stoked to try it. Alas, I think I hyped myself up too much for this one; it wasn't as amazingly delicious as I expected. The mac and cheese was microwaved in a styrofoam cup and then put on the sandwich which made me think it wasn't home made (maybe I was wrong thinking that it would have been?). If it was homemade, it didn't taste like it. The potato sticks, or fritas, were the only thing that gave the sammy any texture at all; every soft ingredient melded together. The sandwiches are $8 and 8 inches and they use Boar's Head meats and cheeses. I honestly feel a little bad leaving a 3 star review among the sea of 5s. The Pink Submarine is a step above a Subway, maybe on par with Publix subs, and below a place like The Cheese Course and Day Market Kitchen. Even with feeling this way, I'm probably still going to go back because of Dawn. She's that cool.

As far as I know, parking is metered on the street right in front of the restaurant. Luckily, I didn't have to search for a spot. The meters take credit cards as well so that's a bonus. I love the paintings on the walls inside the restaurant. When I entered, I was greeted and said they would be right with me. It seemed like they were still prepping (maybe they had a big lunch rush before 12:30?) I ordered the Skipper sandwich with turkey, provolone, avocado, lettuce, tomato, crunchy onions and alfalfa sprouts on a multi-grain roll. All their subs are 8" and $8.00 per sub. They have a combo offer to add a soda and a side for a total of $10. They have white, wheat and multi-grain bread. They can even make your sandwich into a salad if you don't want the carbs. I even noticed a little case full of chocolates. I came with high expectations, but as they created my sandwich I could see that they weren't putting a considerable amount of meat on the sub. The turkey didn't reach to the end of the roll and there was only about 3 skinny slices. Sure enough, when I was towards the butt ends of the sandwich, I found a lot excess bread with no meat left to eat it with. I will say that this was an extremely refreshing and light sub, but I didn't really think it was better than what I've had elsewhere. I guess I should have gone all out and ordered the Starboard (stuffed with cranberry relish & stuffing) or the Captain (stuffed with mac & cheese). But I've had loads of subs that were light and refreshing that didn't need something heavy like mac & cheese or stuffing to make it better. And it doesn't bother me too much, but I will note that they use a microwave to reheat their chicken and their sloppy joe mixture before they put it in the sandwich. Service was fantastic, they were really nice and accommodating, but I have a few other joints that I think trump this joint in the sub department.

I'm kind of a sandwich enthusiast. I grew up in New Jersey, where the deli is king. My childhood was filled with memorable sandwich experiences. My father used to bring home sandwiches from the world famous Carnegie Deli in Midtown Manhattan. On the weekends my friends and I frequented the well known nearby Millburn Deli. With that being said, my sandwich standards are really, really high. This was one of the only sandwiches that I have really thoroughly enjoyed since moving to South Florida five years ago. I ordered The Buoy, being that roast beef is a favorite of mine, and I thought that pairing it with Gouda cheese would make for an interesting combo. I requested that they remove the tomatoes, because I hate raw tomatoes (Who knows why?).... That left; roast beef, (Let me just pause for a moment to tell you that the cut of roast beef that I had in this sandwich was delicious) horseradish mayo, roasted red peppers, lettuce, cucumber, and alfalfa sprouts, served on a multi-grain sub roll. It really came together beautifully and every flavor and texture complimented each other. The one and only thing separating this review from 5 stars is a pet peeve of mine... proportions! The ingredients were perfect and evenly distributed, except for one key ingredient... The meat! There was not enough roast beef for my taste. To be perfectly fair, I probably care about this more than 90% of people but I hold 5 star reviews for perfect execution. I would give 4.5 stars if I could. As far as my overall experience, I was very pleased. I met the owner Dawn, who was very nice. I promised her that she would see my review on here this week, so here it is. I will definitely be back soon to try some more items from the menu. Maybe next time I'll just ask for a little extra meat, that should make for the perfect sandwich.

Wow - this place is LEGIT! First off... THANK YOU for being open on New Year's Day. Finding a decent place to grab a sandwich was incredibly hard until I called and they actually answered! I really enjoyed my sandwich and the boyfriend really liked his and they have yummy jalapeno chips! The staff was awesome and the sandwich shop was very unique and artsy. I wish we had one of these in KC... it was great!

I don't think I have ever been to a business that had a perfect rating on Yelp (with more than 50 reviews) and not been impressed! From customer service, to the food, to the cleanliness....this place is certainly worthy of the 5 star overall rating! Located in Wilton Manors - I am convinced that every single business in this area is top-notch. I've been to a few already and I'm convinced that I need to move to WM someday. I came here for a lunch meeting and I went with the Captain - ham, turkey, tomato, potato sticks and honey mustard. Then they go ape sh!t with it and add mac and cheese on top! WOW. All of the flavors work so well together (and I hate honey mustard, but decided to keep it as is to get the real tastes of the sandwich...glad I did). I was stuffed and couldn't finish the whole sandwich. The staff is also great - super nice, quick and had a ton of regulars there. I look forward to coming back and trying more things on the menu.

Yum! Thanks to Yelp I bookmarked and tried this excellent sandwich spot. We ordered three subs (two Captains - the sub with Mac and Cheese and one Skipper). The Skipper is turkey, avocado, lettuce, sprouts, ranch, and crunchy onions. The flavors are phenomenal with the cool avocado, creamy ranch, and salty onion crunch. The Captain's mac and cheese is a fun creamy addition to a sub. A little heavy, but worth a try. You can get a combo with a side (pasta salad, cucumber salad, loaded baked potato salad) or chips (a cook selection of Dirty Chip flavors) and a drink for $2 more. There are about 7 tables in the restaurant so it was a little busy at lunch but we could snag a seat.

So delicious! Had the special pirates booty blackened turkey Swiss cheese mango chutney pressed! Deliciousness in my mouth! The loaded potato salad so good! Friendly neighborhood gem!

I love love love this place ! It was my first time trying it out and I just love it! I especially loved the loaded potatoe salad!! I will defiantly come back! And the lady who made my sandwich made my day she's so nice and welcoming !

The pigs are finally flying!!! This place is amazing. I visited yesterday for lunch and had "The Starboard" hot sandwich it has turkey(boars head), swiss, cranberry, mayo, and homemade stuffing. Not only is this sandwich like thanksgiving day all in one, it is the freshest i have ever had. When you walk in, your greeted by Dawn who is what makes this place so special. She puts love in every sandwich and it definitely shows. I would recommend this place to anyone. I can't wait to return! P.S. you have to eat the red skin potato salad OMG such perfection!!!!

Took a friend there for his birthday lunch, amazing food but most importantly friendly fast service. They have boars head meat so I knew I came to the right sandwich place, I will differently be back. Oh yeah and dawn gave my friend a giant cookie for his b.day . #supercool

Yep... it's true. Ita a damned fine sandwich shop. .. and trust me, I know sandwich shops. I love that they do a lot of homemade and they have great flavor combinations. I wanted to try at least 4 other subs. And the sides were great. I mean, maybe the best potato salad I've ever had. They have a very good sense of seasoning in a way that most sit down restaurants don't. I had the Beacon, and it was glorious. I also had a quinoa salad with lentils as a side. Again, very well seasoned. Service was great and "mom" didn't mind talking shop with me, which I always appreciate. Keep it up Pink! Wish I could have you again!

Thanks to Patrick R. for his great review! Based on his review, we had to try the potato salad. OMFG....it was DELICIOUS!! I'm not normally a potato salad fan, but I thoroughly enjoyed theirs. I had the Beacon sandwich on white (Turkey, Bacon, Garlic Aioli, Guacamole, and Roasted Peppers.), and it was amazing. It's also one of their hot pressed sandwiches. It's literally the best Sandwich Shop I've ever visited. Go. There. Now.

My boyfriend and I found this place on Yelp while we were staying in Wilton Manors for vacation. The unique menu and glowing reviews had us dying to try the place- and thank goodness we did! We stopped in for a late lunch and ordered two "Captains", which were brilliantly unique and delicious. The place was empty, so we spent some time talking to one of the owners for quite awhile. She was extremely friendly and had no problem sharing her stories with us and asked where we were from (Michigan). Conversation flowed very naturally and we enjoyed talking to her very much. She even threw in a free cookie for us to split before we left. I wish The Pink Submarine was closer to our hometown, because there are many other items on the menu we had wanted to try! We will be back in the future for both the food and the friendly conversation!

Came here for the first time and it was amazing to say the least! I got the beacon sub and it was delicious! I am not a fan of traditional potato salad, but my boyfriend insisted I try the potato salad and I'm glad that he did. It was fantastic and full of flavor. Will def be coming back here!

I went in for the sub but will go back for the chocolate covered Twinkie. After having hoagie after hoagie at LaSpadas, I wanted to try something new this visit to Ft Lauderdale. Thanks to the Yelpers who've reviewed this place because I doubt I'd have ever noticed it. While the sub was great, I'll never be able to eat a normal undipped in chocolate Twinkie again because it won't be the same.

  • Rob H.

The owner Dawn is great! The food is top quality and creative. She makes the desserts, sides, meatballs, etc from scratch. The signature subs are unlike anything I've ever seen. My favorite is the captain. You gotta check the pink submarine put!

  • Vincent F.

We were in the mood for a good sandwich, and Yelp brought the Pink Submarine to my attention: 5 stars, and a litany of positive reviews, plus the posted pictures, promised a good experience. The place was clean, with plenty of seating and some cool artwork painted on the walls. As it turned out, one of the owners was on duty, and we got to talk to her about the menu items, and the history of the business. She was incredibly friendly, and, actually, personally prepared our order. It's always nice to hear about an eating spot struggle through beginnings and succeed with a quality product & service. Our sandwiches were delicious, and the potato salad was equally good. They also have a selection of innovative, guilty sweets for dessert. I won't be surprised if Pink Submarine is around for years to come. This is an exceptional sub shop.

called in for a pick up order. never ordered here before but the yelp reviews looked promising.... hard to get a real good sandwich around here coming from new york but i found a few gems.. this place was clean, quick and attentive. i liked the funky fun colored underwater art they had on the walls, food stations were clean as well. my sandwich was delicious on fresh multi whole grain bread which is always my biggest concern! the sandwich itself with the granny smith apples, balsamic vinegar, sliced ham and whole grain mustard was perfect. it was refreshing, moist and juicy. no dry deli meat here!! great experience thanks and will be back again!

Came here based on yelp reviews. Place is simple boarshead sub place with desert bakery. I ordered the captain and it was alright. Reason for four stars is because they only have limited selection on boars meat. I have to give it to the lady who made potato salad...amazing. Simple deli at most....

My boyfriend and I spend most of our time together trying to find amazing, hole in the wall, food gold mines. When we set up this vacation to come to Ft. Lauderdale, I did some research and this spot was one of the first on my lists of places I wanted to try with him. Wow was it worth every second, not only was my sandwich amazing, she let me customize it to my liking, plus the owner was so friendly, and inviting. I got the captain, and my man got the Torpedo; and he loved it too. Great experience and we will definitely be back when we're around. She definitely has a great thing going.

I had the depth charge here which is a roast beef, it was absolutely fabulous, The ingredients were fresh and the chipotle mayo gave it a nice kick. I also got a side of the potato salad which was outstanding would recommend this place. It is a little on the higher price side but it is well worth it.

  • Kayli S.

Built my own sub and my boyfriend got the Beacon. The place was clean, had tons of options for your idea sub building experience and the owner was hilarious. You can build a combo with chips, they also have desserts and sides like pasta salad and cucumber salad. Subs are relatively competitively priced at $8 a pop, and they're absolutely delicious. I'd definitely recommend this place!

Food was good. I got there about 40 minutes before closing. Already knew what I wanted from the pics on Yelp. The lady that was there (didnt get her name) was wonderful! She had a create conversation about the restaurant and Netflix. All and all a great time! I enjoyed and food and if I lived in Fl would come again.

This place is AMAZING!!!!! I'm not going to spoil the fun, but if you haven't been you just need to go!!!!!!!!!! Besides the incredible food, dawn who runs the place is super friendly and nice. You can tell she makes the food with love and it makes the food even better (if that's possible lol)

I was skeptical as to why a this sub place had 5 stars, but after the first bite of my Skipper sub I understood. The ingredients are fresh, the lettuce crisp, the tomatoes ripe, it just hit the spot! The owner was friendly, and helpful. Overall awesome service and great food!

First off, I hate to call this place a sub shop because it is so much more than that. This is more like the origination of all best sandwiches in Fort Lauderdale, maybe even south Florida. I truly wish they would open in coral gables so that I could frequent them more often. The staff is friendly and the owner is always there (true key to success).. The owner is also dedicated to being successful and making it the best, and it shows. The ingredients are all high quality and fresh. They make all kinds of different sandwiches for all taste buds. I really wanted to try the captain, but got the skipper instead. Boy, was I glad I did. Turkey, provolone, tomato, avocado, lettuce and crunchy onions. Yum. I might come every day this week... Doesn't stop there. They have all kinds of chocolate covered deliciousness and some delicious marble sugar cookies that are the perfect end to this perfect and well priced meal. Thank you for a 5 star experience. See you tomorrow.

They catered an event at our church down the street and the subs and pasta salad were extraordinary. The breads were soft and fresh as if they had been baked that morning, which is the key to the perfect sandwich. The pasta salad was made with corkscrew pasta and had an addicting blend of seasonings, and one herb, ground fennel perhaps, stood out. It forced me to go back for seconds and thirds until I started to feel guilty that I was eating up my weekly donation. Judging from my experience and those of the reviewers, the owner is seeking excellence and doing pretty well at it.

Excellent place, their Captn Sub is absolutely delicious (Mac and Cheese on a sub is a great idea) and like everyone here has said, their loaded potato salad is just stunningly great. I arrived at app 1pm in the afternoon on a thursday and it was almost empty right after the dinner craze.

I ordered some lunch for my boyfriend and I and we got The Beacon, The Vessel and Full Steam Ahead along with a side of the loaded potato salad and mac & cheese. We enjoyed all of our food (that potato salad is awesome) and the lady that made our sandwiches was great. She was quick and friendly and chatted with me while she made our order. This was our first time trying the Pink Submarine and it won't be our last. Looking forward to trying out some other menu items in the future :)

Came here after discovering 925 was closed. Really great sandwiches, I believe they use all Boar's Head deli meats. I had The Beacon with turkey, bacon, guacamole, garlic aioli and roasted red peppers. Great combination of flavors, but I'm not sure I could justify spending $8 on a sandwich alone all that often. Seemed like it was the owners that were working and they were super friendly. I love catching businesses when it's not super slammed and you get to have at least a bit of a conversation with people. Also got sold on a Raspberry Chocolate cookie at the counter (I'm a sucker for sweets...what can I say) which ended up being pretty disappointing. Too much cookie, too little chocolate/raspberry. But I'm not sure if they make those in house or get them from a local bakery, so that didn't really make nor break this review. Overall, tasty sandwiches, definitely worth another try when I'm in the area.

We were in the mood for a good sandwich and we found it. We both had the vessel (their version of a Cuban) delicious the garlic aioli was delicious gave it a really unique flavor. Everything is homemade and the meat is all boars head! Now when you come the baked potato salad is a must!

1st off I have to say thank you to Dawn and all of her suggestions! Everything was absolutely amazing! I ended up getting "full steam ahead" the loaded baked potato salad and some chocolate covered Oreos! The sandwich was exactly what I needed on a hot summer day, I got it with added pepperchinis for that extra crunch! Already telling all my roomies that this needs to be a regular meal throughout the week lol Thanks again and I will be back! With friends lol....

The sandwiches here are so unique with toppings like crunchy onions and mac and cheese. Each day has a different special, too (I think Firday's special is meatballs). Overall, I love going to this place for a quick bite when I'm craving a sandwich!

The place is beautifully decorated with uplifting art work. I tried the beacon , with guacamole and gouda cheese. It was yummmmm. Free parking , till 6pm (city hall) is great, cause it is difficult to find parking on wilton drive. I had the sandwich to go. Also, met the owner, Jason. Who prepared my sandwich. And told me about the artist who did the murals, her name is Cecilia. Cudos to her. Will definitely be back for more.

I had lived in Wilton Manors for three years and just recently moved . We came back to the area today to bring both cars to Hamill tire. We decided to look on yelp for "someplace we never tried". We decided this was close and had great reviews, so off we went when 1car was ready. BTW while waiting for the 1 car we looked up the menu. Good thing we did, too many great choices.. The place is great and the customer service is even better. NOW for the sandwiches , I had The Beacon and my boyfriend had The first Mate with sides of Chips, cucumber salad and the best watermelon ever. If you are in Wilton Manor this is definitely a must. All the 5 stars are proof that they are doing everything right.

If you're looking for a lunchtime sandwich, this place is WAY better than Subway, or Publix! Their menu is diverse, fun, and different. It might take a few minutes longer to get your order, especially if you go when it's busy, but the wait is worth it. I love that they use fresh toppings, but the best part is the service. The owners are often there to serve you and that means they care about their product! I've not had one bad sandwich there and I will go back there before I go to another sandwich place. Great for take-out or sit-in. I wouldn't bring a group of friends there, but one or two of us can enjoy a nice time there and in and out with an inexpensive meal, but worth every penny!

Amazing sub shop, with eclectic and animal like decorations scattering along the walls. This place has amazing food , the beacon was literally the best sub I've ever had and trying each of my friends subs made me realize...all the subs are awesome! Definitely worth stopping into, and if you're feeling like indulging add the loaded baked potato salad...heavy, but sooooo good!!

Had a chance to go here the other day. I've seen the reviews for this place for quite some time and have checked them frequently. Finally managed to squeeze it in for a lunch break. This place is pretty difficult to find. While once you find it and go in it's deceivingly big, its storefront shares its space with a couple of other businesses and the place does very little to make itself stand out. I've driven past this place dozens of times, and never noticed there was a sub shop next to that thrift store. Parking is also a bit curious if you don't have change on you... I found a lot next to the place that I managed to park in for about 10 minutes but found a sign inside that said I shouldn't park there. Once inside the decour is nice, the place is clean, and the lady who I can only assume is the owner (or at least a manager) was quick to greet me and say hello. Absolutely lovely woman who kind of reminded me of my mom. Not to say that she's old, but made me feel very much "at home". I think I heard them mention that they were short staffed though, because basically one woman was left to assemble my sub but check me out while also managing people who called in their orders. She too was friendly and did the best she could much to her credit, but it definitely affected the service. I ordered the "All Hands on Deck", because I love me some Siracha mayo. Asked for extra too. The sub wasn't overly pricy and there were tons of customization options, everything looking good and fresh. Midway through the first quarter of my sub I thought the mayo was flavorful but not that spicy, but maybe I just didn't hit a huge chunk of it because it quickly caught up to me. Not overwhelming but you'll feel that kick and it was welcoming. As for a yelp review of a sub shop, I can't help but compare it to La Spada's though. While this place has way more options, unique flavors, and a more personable atmosphere (as opposed to the dude-bro quota I think La Spada's has to fill when considering new hires) the sandwich just wasn't as big, or overflowing with ingredients like a Spada. Also after reading some reviews I couldn't help but checking out their mini sweets section. Not a lot caught my eye as I'm picky when it comes to sweets except the Rice Krispy Oreos. These were kind of expensive as two little bites ran $1.50 a piece, but I have to admit they were bites of heaven in my mouth. What appeared to be two rice krispy treat disks making an oreo sandwich then cascaded in chocolate were really good. Unfortunately I had to eat these in the car on my way back to work as opposed to saving them between halves of the sub as I had planned because of how hot it was outside, but they were great. Anyways a very nice, quaint little place on Wilton Dr.

Visiting my family near by, I found myself needing to provide lunch for the family on a moments notice in a city I'm less than familiar with. Thank god for yelp! I found the closest sandwich shop with a load of five star reviews and I found myself at the pink submarine. The sandwiches were wonderful. The loaded baked potato salad was very good although it does hit your stomach like a brick. The owner was a delight and super helpful. On a whim I picked up some of her homemade chocolates which were a treat. Parking is on street and metered so bring a few quarters.

Went here multiple times. Fresh and homemade quality food ready within 3 minutes. Best sub I've ever had (although we call them Grindrs in CT ) and beats out other restaurants on the Drive hands down for an easy lunch. You won't get a gut from this place, which we all know is important in this type of community. Dawn is the sweetest owner/manager I've come across. She makes sure you love your meal or she will fix it until it's perfect. God bless her. Very reasonably priced with the exception of the chocolate covered deserts (if I HAD to be fussy).

Let me start with the most important part of this review: The Pink Submarine makes some of, if not THE, the best sandwiches in South Florida. Now that we've got that out of the way, what are you waiting for? Seriously though, from the amazing staff, very cool murals on the walls, down to deserts to die for, The Pink Submarine beings a gourmet twist to move you beyond everyday sandwich fare. With every creation more eclectic than the one before, using only fresh ingredients in the most unexpected of ways, you'll be planning your next visit before you finish. , From Mac and Cheese with Potato Sticks (yes, it's delicious), to Turkey and cranberry... It all works so perfectly you'll almost forget about the Loaded Baked Potato Salad side waiting to knock your socks. Stop in, enjoy the atmosphere, and stay for more sandwiches than you can eat in a sitting, no matter how much you want to try another. Ya dig?!?!

Great selection of subs and the service here is always stellar. They have a few sandwich toppings that you don't see often. You can create your own sub and pretty much go crazy. They even have stuffing that they use if you're feeling like Thanksgiving in July! Also, they even deliver for limited hours at lunch. So convenient!

So good! Pricing is consistent across the board and they can make any of the sandwiches into a salad, or create your own!! It was perfect for a healthy lunch. You can put just about anything and everything! One thing is you pay after you eat unless it's takeout of course :) I would definitely come back here many times and recommend everyone!

This place is really cool to look at! I went with my 2 year old and he had a great time looking at everything. We tried The Vessel which is their take on a Cuban sandwich and the loaded potato salad. Both were yummy, and the sandwich got my Cuban stamp of approval. Service was friendly, all in all a nice experience. Will return!

Get out here on a Friday and get some balls in your mouth. STAT! Actually, just get out here any day that you can and slowly start to work your way through their extensive and impressive selection of gourmet subs. My favorite so far is the Starboard, not only because it's Thanksgiving in a sandwich but also because the combination of flavors is so perfectly well done. As someone who makes the turkey and the stuffing every year, I know that you have to strike just the right balance so that the stuffing compliments rather than over powers the turkey; the Pink Submarine gets it just right, and topped off with a delicious cranberry relish, MMMmMmMmMM, it makes me so damn happy. The ingredients here are always fresh, the service is friendly and the atmosphere is cute and quirky. I haven't even made my way through the whole menu yet, and there is word out on an expansion of said menu to be happening soon. Dangerous times ahead....down periscope!

Plunge into the deep sea at The Pink Submarine. Join THE CAPTAIN (a Sweet Slice Ham, Oven Gold Turkey, Tomato, Mac and Cheese, Potato Stix and Honey Mustard sub) and THE ADMIRAL (a Prosciutto, Buffalo Mozzarella, Fresh Basil, Tomato, Roasted Red Pepper, Artichoke, Herbs, Oil and Balsamic Vinegar sub) on the quest for the most delightful and fresh sub you'll ever eat. Charge FULL STEAM AHEAD (a Oven Gold Turkey, Cream Cheese, Mayo, Dried Cranberries, Lettuce, Tomato, Cucumber, and Alfalfa Sprouts sub) with your FIRST MATE (a Sweet Slice Ham, Brie, Sliced Granny Smith Apples, Honey Mustard, Age Balsamic Vinegar sub) on a mission to try their fleet of hot and pressed or cold subs (because trust me, I had tried most of them, and I have never had a bad experience). So head STARBOARD (a Turkey, Swiss Cheese, Cranberry Relish, Mayo, and Homemade Stuffing sub) on your VESSEL (a Sweet Slice Ham, Roasted Pork, Swiss, Garlic Aoli, Mustard, Pickles & Tomato sub), and guide yourself over like a TORPEDO (a Sweet Slice Ham, Genoa Salami Sopressata, Provolone, Deli Mustard, Mayo, Tomato, Red Onion, Cherry Peppers, Sweet Pepper Strips, Banana Peppers, Lettuce, Topped with Parmesan Cheese, Oil & Vinegar sub) to the Pink Submarine. Trust me, you will not regret it!

I really enjoyed this mom and pop sandwich shop. They offer a wide variety of sandwiches that you won't be able to find anywhere else. Another cool angle the pink submarine takes is that it offers a "daily special" sandwich which I usually get. If they ever offer the Sloppy Joe while your there do yourself a favor and get it! Absolutely delicious. Best sloppy joe ever. No more Publix subs for me. I'm going to the pink submarine!

Went for the first time about three weeks ago to this establishment. I have been back at least once a week since. Very clean, super friendly staff and incredible value! They use all Boar's Head products, have home made soup every Tuesday, and just an all around fantastic menu. I end up spending about $10 for a meal with a side and a drink (about the same as subway) and get way more food, quality ingredients, and a very thoughtfully planned sandwich. The place is unprecedented.

Being new to south Florida, I'm always checking out yelp for new ideas in Fort Lauderdale. I came across this sandwich spot with rave reviews. Being a sandwich lover, I was pretty excited to try it. First.... It was a hard spot to find on a busy street with not much parking. Next, the shop is pretty underwhelming at first glance with 1 employee behind the counter(she was very nice!) with sandwich meats/veggies that looked pretty normal; however, Sandwich specials were impressive and I tried the bacon-turkey-guacamole combo. Sandwich was good but not great. I won't be coming back for my sandwich cravings. Don't believe the hype!
